Rothwell Town Hall

An interesting summers evening visit for the team. A beautiful detached building standing on the market square of Rothwell, a historic town in Northamptonshire near to Kettering.
It was a warm night and we had to wait some time for darkness to fall. Most of the investigation took place in the first floor meeting room and down the stairwell.
This was the first occasion that table tipping had been successful. Table tipping is achieved by placing something like a pound coin under one of the legs on a wooden table, this then makes the table unsteady and allows it to wobble slightly across a diagonal pivot. The table began to wobble and knock very slightly at first but then began to do so with much more energy, so much so that it was actually moving around the floor. We were also able to get simple questions answered with a simple method of two knocks for yes and one for no.
Following on from the success of this we went onto the seance around the table with all the letters of the alphabet and all the numbers from 0 to 9 so that messages could be spelt out to us. We began some communication that seemed very successful and gave us information that was claimed to be connected to the building. We were told via this communication that 1871 was the date that renovation was started on the building and it was finished in 1895. The building was apparently unfinished for some time. We were also informed of an alleged underlying political disagreement over this building which it was also alleged resulted in the murder of one person.
Names were mentioned, but without confirming whether this information is 100% correct it would not be in anyone’s interest to publish these.
Mention was also made of the deeds to the property being stored in another large house, although this house was not named.
The investigation concluded at 11.30 pm
